Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis is an inflammation of a thick broad ligament that runs from the heel to the ball of the foot. A Heel Spur is a bony growth on the underside of the heel. The result is heel pain particularly in the morning when taking a few first steps. The cause is usually orthopedic alignment of the foot, excessive weight gain, or heel injury itself.

Chronic plantar fasciitis can lead to the formation of heel spurs. Heel pain can have other causes such as arthritis, trauma, and some metabolic conditions.

Our treatment package for plantar fasciitis/heel spur/ heel pain consists of a clinical evaluation, including x-rays, a steroid cocktail injection of affected area (if necessary). Dispensing of home care regimen consisting of exercise and/or stretching and a prescription of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (if necessary).
